hello

I applied heat with a heat gun to the diaphragm of the carb and now the nordy goes much better.

I bought a pair of tyres, because old ones were very hard and worn. I chose a pair of michelin pilot power 2ct

The bottle opener maybe can be repaired adding material with welding and after grinding it to the standard measure between the two points who push on the "star"

Did you have a picture of a mounted bootle opener with the star?
Sorry, the last time i have replaced one was... some 15 years ago, i think ;)
I never found out where this thing was worn. I just cannot see anything.
On the other hand, the bottle opener is a raw piece of steel simply cut out from a metal shet. I think tolerances maybe some 10th of a mm.
So no rocket technology.
I could never imagine where the fault of this part comes from.
So if there are some Gileristi out there who have worn out bootle opener parts, maybe we can find out where the magic spot is which makes them fail ;)
I have one here which should be the faulty one i replaced years ago. I will take some measurements.

ciao Joachim

I guess applying heat to the diaphragm softened the membrane, am I right? I so it will be interesting to see what happens next, i.e. if it firms up again or splits. I hope it stays soft as I have two that will get the treatment.

yes, this is.

when you apply heat, it become very very soft, and when it cool again, it hardens a bit but not so hard like before...

A friend tell me that other method to soften the diaphargm is keep it inmersed in fuel during some hours...but I dont try this...

A new pair of little problems. I have to change the front wheel bearings and the fork seals

I dont know the size of the bearings, anybody knows? I read that the fork seals can be from a yamaha r1´99, is there any better option?
