PM sent.

I've also just picked up a GFR with a bit of damage to the frame when it had a bit of a front end bash.

Again, I doubt its good for the roads over here, but it may patch up for your project.

Again, I'll take a few photo's in the natural light and send them over. I've taken the parts from both frames that I need.

ta,

george

Looking forward to some snaps just in case it twists my arm.
I have also mailed you some pictures I have of Nordie gfr/Crono specials, as you will see the engine looks like it belongs there, very neat and compact little bike B)
Cheers
John

Do you think the factory considered building machines with potential cross hybridisation or is it just coincidence? I suppose that for smaller factories it makes sense if components are versatile across various models, saves on too much tooling and keeps the parts bins easier to control.

More than think about it they were almost incestuous, just think of all the bikes they made around the late 1980's to 1993 with mix and match components in 125's and 600's no idea how many people they had in design and R&D but they must have been on overtime and LSD :P
They may have gone bust but not through lack of trying

So as you can see, its got a bit of a hairline crack up near the front end. I think its repairable but I've not got round to investigating whether the frame's been written off or not (i bought it for spares rather than intending to put it on the road). I'll be removing pretty much everything from the frame once I get the opportunity.....

The gfr frame was something that was involved in a decent front end smash. Its clearly had an impact which has caused the parts of the pressed steel to part at the seams.

I'd personally think you'd get more joy out of the crono frame, but the choice is yours....

This project has reminded me that I've now got a garage thats got a spare GFR, AF1 and Futura that need piecing together and getting sorted.....
