Hi there,
It was a silly idea really off road bikes are much more suited to our "roads" :S
The idea was to build a special similar to the Piuma using my spare Nordwest engine, which I also have tuning parts for, big bore kit, ported head and 2xcr Keihin carbs, etc.
Prototypes using gfr frames were built by Gilera just before they shut up shop, presumably as a replacement for the Saturno, repairing the frame would not be a mot problem here in Nigeria where I live, we don't have anything like that  I would have to get any repair done in the UK as tig welding is not available here, but do know a man who can ;)
I think chassis wise Crono and gfr's are the same but think the Crono had a 16" front wheel compared to the gfr 17", I am supposed to be old enough to know better  but could be tempted if you twisted my arm, just wish I was half my age with all time and money to complete all the things I have on the go
Let me know what you have and let me think about it,
Cheers
John

Thanks O-B
Police very half hearted, understandable I suppose, not exactly life threatening :(

Hi John,

So i had another look at the crono today, it looks pretty good in terms of forks, wheels and swingarm.

The frame needs a weld but its pretty straight apart from that. I've no need for it as I only wanted the engine and loom.

I know you wanted a gfr but my only issue would be how much bhp you could put through it's single sided swingarm ?, i'd feel safer user the crono version to be fair......

Hi George
Thought of that and bought a spare Nordie swing arm and rear wheel ;) which was used on a couple more Nordie gfr specials that I've I have seen i photo's
Is the crack from an accident or a stress crack? is the frame straight?
If I remember correct when you advertised long ago there is no bodywork, what about radiator?
Do I really want to build a street fighter :S
