Just wondering if anyone has had to replace their rear shock unit recently? Mine has seized solid and there isn't any replacements available anywhere. The linkage is all in good order - which was a surprise having sat for 18 years, but the Boge shock is kaput. Could I ask someone to measure their good GFR shock somewhere near full extension between hole centres? To see if mine seized anywhere near one extremity or the other - I've measured 280mm between mount hole centres.

Having reached out to several suspension manufacturers, we've narrowed any replacement down to a Honda NX250 shock as the closest match. Many simply wanted to build me bespoke unit for several hundred £££'s but Marc at Brooke Suspension has been very helpful in trying to match the dimensions I've provided on their technical library. Cheers,

Bitubo used to list one: GL013WZE01 but it doesn't seem to be currently available according to their website. I can't find a spec. with dimensions.

Omnia Racing claim to have 5 available for sale on Ebay (£320!):

Hi

Not a sales push of any sort!

You could try Robin at Falcon Shocks, He has rebuilt several RC 600 shocks for me.

Thank you for helping out, Joachim if you could measure yours for me I'd be most appreciative.
I'll keep an eye out for the Bitubo shock, but I'm sure I've read it somewhere that they aren't a straight drop-in, but worth keeping in mind.
I'm thinking if I can match the GFR close enough, then I can trawl tinternet for a 2nd hand shock for the donor bike which I can hopefully get rebuilt at around half the price of new, failing that I'll have to bite the bullet and pay out for spanker. A brand new shock was something I was hoping to do further down the line once it's all proven to be working fine. I might even go the bespoke unit route at that point in time. Thank you all for your support and suggestions, I'll make contact with Robin at Falcon Shocks to see what he can suggest.
