Looks like it's solid enough and just needs a clean (and please, a colour change ), the technical bits put back on and you'll have a Gilera worth showing ay any future events.

the v5 states the bike is yellow so i'm thinking about going for the yellow fairings but unsure of what color for the frame maybe red or black. Pete all the bits are laid out next to each other in the garage so no chance of loosing bits, i am planning to either buy a sandblasting kit or get it done at a shop either late this week or early next week. So most of the parts can go back on sometime soon.

That looks nice in the yellow and black, my fairings are not originals though so i will go with the yellow scheme and once i have got enough cash saved then i will look for the original plastics in the factory colors

ok i have bought a compressor and am going to give shot blasting a try tomorrow i will buy the attachment gun and some glass bead. I am also going to get some wire wool today as im going to give the exhaust a clean up, (may need a replacement end can as it has seen better days), also could if someone could tell me the distance between the mounting holes of the rear caliper from the nordwest i would be grateful, my rear caliper is seized so going to replace that to.

I have an old but usable GFR silencer in the shed somewhere that may fit. Put up a photo of your old one and I'll check if it's a possibility.
