Had a look online but can seem to find what I thought would be really easy to buy but its not seaming to be easy :(

any help would be gratefull! Also to see what I've aculy bough ! could frame number be used?

the h@k is a grey import similar to the sioux and the surfer and went out of production in about 1992-93, they are all very similar mechanically but subtle differences in styling, bodywork and running gear make interconnectivity of parts challenging. collectively they could be considered as precursors of the gsm and rcr. mechanically i believe the cylinders, pistons, clutches, crankcases, coolng systems are the same, the sufer and h@k have 6 speed boxes and the sioux has 4 speed. getting the right bits even used parts will take time to accumulate, you'll have to contact bob wright and trawl feebay on worldwide setting.
as an example, i am looking for a rear wheel/hub for a sioux but this item is of a different pattern to the others

i remember seeing a 'new' unregistered surfer in js accessories shop in greenwich in 2002 but eventually bought a 'new' sioux from Bonanza motorcyles later the same year......had been left in a crate in a warehouse in italy for ten years, was eventually registered with an 02 plate....i've had a look at fowlers web site and surprisingly they list parts for the h@k so perhaps what i've previously said is not correct (for the h@k). bob wright may be able to confirm the year of manufacture. fowlers will only list parts for uk bikes but one thing is for certain, not everything will be available and what is there may be at a premium price....sod's law states that you'll probably need at least one of these parts, there's not many about so keep looking for used items......

www.fowlersparts.co.uk/browser/manufacturer/gilera/bike/h-k-342

one thing to consider is that by the time these bikes have passed through a line of 16 year olds and have been bashed about, fitted with so-called 'race tuned' big bore kits (ha ha ha)and other non-standard parts they will be mechanically and comestically challenged due to the owner not having the knowledge or any money to fix them properly or the unavailabilty of spares. keep a look out for a doner bike which might be worth buying for some of the parts you may need or spares only. these engines are highly stressed and should only be run on synthetic based oils, piston rings should be changed every 3000km and don't use tap water for the coolant..good luck
