Hi everyone, I'm looking for some help with my 175cc Rossa Extra, I bought the bike about a year ago but have not yet got it running very well, I have been unable to find any technical data for this bike, I need to know carburettor settings, ignition and valve timing details etc. I have found data on just about every other Gilera single but not the Rossa Extra, it has a delorto UB22BS 25mm carb fitted. Any help, copies of a manual etc. would be gratefully recieved. Pedro.

Hi Pedro, I don't have the Rossa Workshop Manual, but I would 'suspect' that the Giubileo Manual would be fairly similar and I can send you a copy of that (in pdf format)if it would help. I also have a pdf sheet of 'other models info' which does have contact details purporting to be able to give technical information on Gilera bikes. Another possibility is to contact Piaggio-Gilera in London who do have a technical section to answer queries.

Very kind of you Paul, but I have the Giubileo manual and there are some significant differences, 25mm carb instead of 22mm, compression ratio and I would suspect that the ignition and valve timing would be different, it really is quite a different motor. The Rossa Extra was a popular little bike in it's day (my first bike) but there is suprisingly little info on them these days. It could be worthwhile going on the english section of club-gilera.de, follow the link from the GeN home page.
They seem to have a much bigger membership compared to GeN and have a wider variety of bikes owned.
