Checked my workshop manual and (Italian) handbook for the float height - only mention is to check floats aren't full of fuel! I'd be happy with 24/25 mm.

A similar snuff box switch was used on Lambrettas and was quite easy to source in scooter circles, but wasn't particularly cheap.

I dropped the oil so I could take the clutch cover off. It was over full and smelled of fuel. The Nylon cam gear is fine luckily, correctly timed too.

Thanks for getting me to check Ritchie, I will keep an eye on it in case it has become brittle. Impressive clutch and primary gear, they seem well over the top. The clutch lifts nice and square.

I have been worried about the low compression but the valves are not sticking. Threw some oil at the tappets, rockers and rod ends. The adjusters look brand new - which might not be a good thing.

The condenser was faulty

Nice new one

New condenser was too tight a fit so I went to skim it ever so gently and it flew out of the chuck. Rage turns to embarrassment then depression. Replacement is same as a Lambretta (affordable) or Ducati (Three times the price) but being mean I order a Bosch one without the bracket for a fiver. I'll reuse the bracket from the old one then order the correct part when it goes horribly wrong.

Carb cleaned up like new

Replaced very bent throttle cable with arrangement more like that in the manual. Used a long snowmobile throttle cable from Amazon which gives two for the price of one. Cheap cable inners seem to solder more easily than more expensive ones. Strange solid bend from my cable junk box needed the thick plating removed from the threads. Adjuster made from a brass bolt - first time I have knurled anything.

Bosch 1 237 330 035 condenser arrived. Looks good quality. Soldered on the old bracket then polished up the inside of the stator plate to take the fractionally larger diameter. If you recall I lost the last condenser because it wouldn't fit down the hole (and I'm an idiot).

All mounted with a little gentle filing of the bracket

Advance mechanism dissembled cleaned and greased

Stop switch rewired this is part of the ignition circuit!?

Turns out it is the wrong switch or broken. The correct switch might work by connecting one side of the coil to ground when the stop lamp switch is off and through the stop lamp filament to ground when it is on. Crazy arrangement! This switch just connects the coil to the stop lamp when the brake is pressed.

Eurocarb do cable adaptors at various 'angles' but only the 40degree obviously comes with an adjuster.
