As requested a forum section for machine modifications has been created.

Threads could cover topics like fitting Kehin CR smoothbore carbs to a Nordwest, interchangeability of parts (e.g. Nordwest indicators fit GFRs), or major mods like grafting on better front forks.

Please try to keep on topic in these threads as they will be made 'sticky' so that useful information can quickly be found by new forum users.

Also, don't forget the 'Pattern Parts Page' reached via the User menu. Additional contributions for this are always welcome.

not all of the Who fans are wearing parkas :woohoo:
On the other hand there is still a small Vespa in my garage. But it's not mine, it's my sisters one.

If someone starts a good thread on lightening valve gear 'Mods and Rockers' will be a good title.

Mods & Rockers
With our over head cam engines not much chance to modify our rockers?? But no reason not to lighten all the cam drive gears and any other go roundy bits to give a quicker throttle response, (less mass will accelerate faster) I’ve not had the chance/need to build up a Gilera engine, (yet) as my spare engine is a box of bits waiting in the UK for me to send to Kano, where I already have 72degrees ex hillclimb Nordie 604cc big bore barrel, piston and TTS modified head, along with spare crank/rod, clutch with cover, alternator with cover, plus lots of other bits and pieces that may be needed in uncivilised places.

I've got what i believe may be an ex-race gilera sp01...

Any idea how to check the race history of a bike and where does one look on the cylinder head/barrel for markings.

The reed valves also look different.
