Now that I finaly have my Nordy, my fist impressions start to be build, some matching what I had been reading for years but some come as a surprise and the front brakes are one of this last: they lack power!

I was expecting a lot more from them. Yes I know, the bike is 23 years old and mine probably needs some servicing (new fluid and new pads), but even so, they feel much like the brakes on my (very old) CBX 1000!... and the Honda weights more then double!

Do you know any master brake pump upgrade that is plug&play?

Thanks.

have a look at the pads.
Maybe they are hard as stones.
I never heard about less brake power at a Nordie ;)

ciao Joachim

The Nordie was always considered to be over-braked and your brakes should pull you up easily and very quickly. Maybe you need to strip and clean them up, or check the pistons aren't semi-seized because when they are working properly its like hitting a brick wall.

At least you have a Nordwest now so the hard bit is over ;}

Resurrecting this old topic of mine and since I now have brand new front discs, I am looking for new pads.

I have an idea of reading somewhere that sintered pads cannot be used on cast discs (like the Nordy ones). Do you have any confirmation on this?

What pads do you recommend?

Thanks!
