My original Nordwest is missing the pointer off the water temperature gauge and the 2nd one I bought a couple of weeks ago is missing the one off the rev counter!

So I was bored yesterday evening and decided to see if I could get inside the 2nd ones pod and do a repair. Once I worked out how to get it apart, I turned it upside down and out cam the rev counter needle!

I don't know if anyone has done this before, but if so what kind of glue did you use to put the needle back?

I am thinking a careful clean up and then superglue.

Chris

of course you will find the needle somewhere in the instrument. It simply has fallen off ;)

I also had thsi several times.
Now i also have no spare ones, so trying to glue will be the solution for the next time.

Tell us please how/if it works ;)

ciao Joachim

Well I finally managed to sit down and have a go at the rev counter needle yesterday and found out something interesting.

It would appear that the orange "plastic" that the needles is made of is not the sort of "plastic" that you can stick together with Superglue.

So will have to go out and get some two part epoxy and try that.

how did you get the bezel off the instrument body. I have a saturno with broken tachometer needle and cannot see how the bezel can be removed to give access to the needle
