Hi Joachim,
Update from today; I have checked out stator, pick up gap, low & high tension resistance of the coil. Low tension readings were suspect and new coil fitted with ht lead and plug. Bike again started up after turning over a few times and ran for 5/10 minutes then stopped quite violently. I really don’t
know where to go from here apart from booking into a bike mechanic. Could this be caused by the new belt being slightly out by a tooth? I have installed the correct plug from the manual, it is a little sooty but I attributed that due to not reaching full running temperature? Any comment gratefully received.

hmmmm.....
After the engine has stalled you may try to start several times and then check the spark plug.
Those fuel engines are rather simple things.
When they did not run it could only be a problem either with the fuel or the spark :) :) :)
Maybe the spark is wet or dry then.

Good luck, Joachim

PS would it be possible to cool the black box somehow?
If it is not the coil i suppose it might be some kind of problem with the electronic.
Mabe someone has a spare box and pickup for a test
