Cheers Joachim

I knew there was a post somewhere and I knew it was in the Manual, so posted from there.

Can we put a Note on the Manual or Note in Hints and Tips.

Ciao for Now

Pete

let's wait and see if this fix will last ;)
I always thought the bad cold starting was a problem of the later ignition system.
The RC should have the older CDI system.

good luck, Joachim ;)

Update, bike has now started several times from cold and runs up to temperature sufficient enough to run cooling fans. However it then stall quite suddenly. I will swap in the new coil and try again. If the same fault continues is it likely that the bike is running too lean mixture. Where is the mixture adjusting screw?

hmmmm starting cold and stalling warm... i also would start searching at the coil ;)
Mixture srew is on the underside of thecarb. Hard to reach
I use a flat bit with a round disc soldered on.
Short enough to fit between carb bowl and the engine
BTW the default position is somehow unusual. If i remeber right 2,5 or 3 turns out. Have a look at the manual

ciao Joachim
