Hi, just to announce that my July acquisition is now up & running having had brake hoses replaced, new cam belt, some rewiring, new sprockets and chain, brake switches, new fuse box, many connectors and new battery. Many hours checking electrics with major adjustment to alternator pick ups ( thanks to Joachim), many fasteners replaced. Running rich and on choke only at present so carb needs a strip, clean which will hopefully sort that. next job is to thoroughly examine plastics, repair, repaint and affix correct decals ( again thanks to Joachim who has given much support and advise) and recover the seat.

One thing I cannot resolve is the fact that I cannot get front park & rear running light to function from the left hand light switch. If I switch to "park" on the ignition both front park lights and rear light illuminate. If I then switch to" Run" on the ignition I get headlamps both dip and main but no rear light when I switch on the lights or position lights in the middle position on the light switch; any suggestions gratefully received. Apart from that looking forward to getting ready for the road in the spring.

meanwhile i have done some testing with the seat cover.
Geert was so kind to send me a piece of his old seat.
I cut a Gilera Logo from white and red flex foil and pressed it on with my T-Shirt heat press.
Looks fine ;)
The GILERA or the RC letters on the side should also be possible in this way.
If the cover is still on the seat that might be possible to be done with an flat iron.
If you have a new cover the shirt press works very well.
But you have to place the letters very well so they are on the right place after mounting the cover on te seat

ciao Joachim
