The tyre pressures recommended for the 600 RC 89/90 appear to be very low compared to modern practise. For road use only do any forum members know if the pressures can be lifted. I currently run Heidenau K60 Tyres. As far as I know current practise for most road tyres/bikes is 36/42 psi front & rear. Any comments gratefully received!

36/42 is way higher than necessary, even on bigger bikes like my Ducati ST4. I run most of my bikes at maybe 31/33 in the interests of comfort, and for a light bike like the NW at modest speeds, I doubt you'd ever need higher pressures.

Thanks Nick, until recently I ran an R1100RT, when I increased pressures to 32/46 tyre wear decreased dramaticallly from 5000 rear, 7000 front to 7500/10000. My current heidenau tyres have quite stiff side walls and therefore shouldn’t need very high pressures but the recommended seem better suited to moderate off road use; just interested to ask if any one has experimented, don’t want to reinvent the wheel so to speak!

Just my opinion, and I don't do enough miles on any one bike to worry about tyre wear., though grip is always a concern. Anything for a comfortable ride on the pot-holed roads around me! Let's wait until a NordWest expert airs a more educated opinion!

Nick
