No eBay APP ID défined in Kunena configurationDear all,
There is a nice looking Saturno B for sale on e-bay.Would anyone know the history given there are only a few in the country?

As i am interested any ideas what a 1995 bike would cost given that it looks in quite good condition ?

Coo - that must be very near to me!
Must resist, must resist.

If registered in 95 it must be an unofficial import ( a few were brought in to the UK officially before there was a Piaggio UK by the Heron Group).

Without the reg. no. I can't check it against the old Gilera Network members database but I don't remember any Saturnos round my parts back then.

I'd guess you can at least put a 0 on the end of the current bid as a reserve.

If you are really interested I could give it a look over.

Well I never. Brain fade strikes again. I just found an 'M' reg Saturno on the old file located not far from here in 1998. So that may very well be the same bike. Can't tell you any more about it though.

It seems the guy wants 5000 plus!
But how does one know what the reserve is, i for one do not know much about e-bay and its workings !?
So what would you guys reckon the market price might be. I have to say that i am interested and the bike does look good !
72, when you say that it could be an unofficial import what does that mean versus an official import please ?
Cheers

Normally you wouldn't know what the reserve was until a bid exceeded it, but the seller has obviosly got tired of people asking what it is and made it public.

With such a high reserve I don't really see the point of starting it at 99p.

Theoretically an insurance company might want more to insure a 'grey import'. They do sometimes with cars, particularly if a certain model was never officially imported. Looking at the 'How Many Left' (DVLA records) web site it seems several Saturnos must have been imported unofficially over the years since a batch was brought in by Heron in about 1990 I guess.

In practice, for a bike of this age it doesn't really make any difference. You would be best getting a classic policy from someone like Footman James anyway.

It certainly looks very original, so I suspect it may end up in a collection rather than being ridden. I do wonder if the guy whose garage it was spotted in realised how much it might be worth.

Hi Stephan,
The last dealer selling a Saturno I saw was NLM who had a very nice low miles black Jap import 350 for 3300quid.
5k for me would be too much, but could be tempted if somebody made that offer for mine
Take care Gilera's are addictive :woohoo:
