Just a quick question, Are the Marvic wheels on the Saturno's magnesium alloy or normal aluminium alloy?

I *think* all Marvic (Tm) wheels are magnesium alloy.

The reason I'm asking is to work out the best way to strip the paint to repaint the wheels. Any suggestions?

i did not think that there is any magnesium in there.
I suppose simple aluimium alloy.
Why? Here around there is no magnesium wheel road legal ;)

The 'paint' is no paint but a plastic coating.
All those environment friendly chemicals for removin paint did not work :(
I have done it with a hot air gun and a big steam power cleaner.
Shotblasting would be another solution.
Of course not with sand, but with something less agressive.

ciao Joachim

Thanks Joachim,
So Bead Blasting or Soda Blasting would be a good way of removing the paint?

Cheers Murray

as said before, i have done it with heat.
No experience in blasting.
The stuff Luigi has put on the rims is somehow resistive.
So i am not shure that soda blasting will be able to remove it. My intention was not so strat with agressive sand, because this may be able to damage your wheels. Be carfull ;)

ciao Joachim
