Tonight I dismantled the petrol tap. Just 2 screws hold it on. The tap has an o ring around the circumference and there is a (perhaps) neoprene seal with 4 holes at the back. There is also a steel wave washer and a white plastic washer.

I lubricated it with a red rubber grease made by Penrite (Australian). They say the product is fuel resistant. The lever now turns really smoothly.

Let's see how long it lasts.........

years ago there was an discussion about replacement taps for the Saturno in the german forum.
Just a few days ago one was searching again.
Unfortunately the added picture in the old article is broken.
Taps from Moto Guzzis V35-V65 and 850 GT should fit just like they are.
There should also be a gasket available.
Thread is M16x1
So maybe asking at your local Guzzi shop may give a help ;)

ciao Joachim

Hey interesting thing happened. My fuel tap has been stiff to operate as well but today I turned the tap on and it was easy. I have been using flashlube in the fuel as a lead substitute for some time and suspect that has lubed the tap. :cheer:

Cheers Murray
