I had some slop in the front brake rotor. There's a company here in New Zealand that reconditioned the carrier for me for NZ$250 + GST (GST is same as VAT, runs at 15% in NZ).

I went for proper hard anodising rather than gold - hence the colour.

I didn't find anywhere else offering rotor reconditioning, so if anyone's interested the company is F1E motorcycle works .

Good to hear.
Did you know what they have done with your carrier?

To get a completely new brake you only need a new stainless steel Brake rotor... from me ;)

ciao Joachim

New material was welded in and re-cut to fit the buttons, and the whole thing was hard anodised.

There's some slight axial play as there should be for a floating disk, but I can't feel any tangential/circumferential play at all. It looks like it's centred properly - haven't had a chance to fit it and determine that yet.

I've always kind of liked the way cast iron rotors feel and wear ... though yeah I could do without the rust.
