Hello again folks,
All you Saturno riders out there, how efficient is your rear brake?. Mine will hardly slow you down!. Now, the master cylinder is fine, the calliper is free on both pucks, and it has sintered pads fitted, new ones. It bled no problem, and the pedal is nicely firm. The calliper has been centralised. You can lock the wheel when turning it by hand and using your other hand on the brake pedal when it's on the paddock stand. So, I've decided the culprit might be the original brake line perished inside, it's all there is left!. I've invested in a new one!.
Any comments?.
Thanks,
Alan.

I'm not sure of this 'rear brake' of which you speak - is it a special and exclusive part on this model? I don't have a Saturno so this is all new to me.... ;}

AHA, do I detect a hint of Scottish irony here?, so the back brake is rubbish!!!!, well, on Nordies anyhow?, Saturno's?

Just a tad Alan.

Seriously, it could be the hose bulging under pressure and most of the force going sideways into the hose wall rather than along to the pistons. A new hose should make a definite improvement.

Nordwests are so overbraked at the front that the rear is pretty much redundant.

Hello Alan,
I have replace both front and rear brake hoses with braided items. The rear brake still isn't super effective but I don't use heaps of rear brake so doesn't bother me.
Cheers Murray

Could you fit a bigger bore master cylinder for more brake pressure ? as there are similar mounting units for ducatis etc available and maybe have higher brake pressure ?
