Does anyone have a replacement Ignition Coil for a Saturno or is there an aftermarket one available?

Coils are fairly simple devices. If you can find a 12V one with the correct primary/secondary winding ratio and the right number of connections you may be able to lash one on from something else. A spiffy dynacoil even. The primary winding resistance needs match the OEM coil.

From the manual:
Standard resistance: 0.2 ÷ 0.3 Ω ± 10% at 20°C.
If there is no continuity, replace coil.
Measure the resistance between the electrical wire terminal and the
high tension wire without the spark plug cap.
Standard resistance: 4.5 kΩ ± 10% at 20°C (fig. 4).

Some googling should turn something suitable up if Uncle Bob can't help.

.3 ohm coils are not that common.

Is the manual correct in this regard?

I have seen them on Krober CDI racing ignitions that run a magneto though.

I had a look through the Dyna catalogue and the lowest their miniature series is available in is .5 ohm.

Can't rule out that it should be 3 not 0.3. Plenty of 3 ohm coils about. I use XV250 ones on my hill climb Morini. I see the Nordwest manual states 4 ohms so it may well be an error.

Gilera manuals are not always error free. The one for my 1956 175 almost had me putting a long reach plug in it as the KLG type reference was wrong. Fortunately, finding an NGK B6HS in it and looking up the Magneti Marelli type it also mentioned saved me.

Best thing is if someone would volunteer to measure the primary winding resistance on theirs.

Thanks for the replies I'll check those out.

The reason I'm asking is just recently the bike will stop while riding and after waiting about a minute it will re-start but before that you will just wind the engine over. I have ruled out fuel. When it starts again goes like nothing is wrong. Hence the reason for expecting a coil that gets hot then cools back down or the Ignition module.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

That sounds more like a problem with the charger coil winding on the stator to me.

The Saturno FAQ tends to confirm the ignition coil is a 0.3 ohm one. I doubt David Chapion would have got it wrong as he worked for Piaggio.

It also gives the resistance for the charger coil. Check it as quickly as you can while it is still hot. The winding insulation may be breaking down.

Ignition - Workshop manual. page 17-2 to 17-5
Timing - 7deg (static). 30deg at 4500rpm. not adjustable.
Charger coil - part of stator. part no. 328239
Resistance test - 150 ohm + 10% (pink to green)
H.T. Coil - part no.321825
Primary res. - 0.2 - 0.3 ohm + 10% (white-lt.blue to black)
Secondary res. - 4.5 K ohms + 10% (white-lt.blue to H.T.)
Pick up coil - part no.328240
Resistance - 110 ohm + 10% (white-green to white-red)
