looks like there has been a problem for a longer time.
So boys always check your water pumps ;)

The case of the pump is made from some kind of aluminium.
So warming it up may loosen the bearing ring.
Soak it up for a few days in WD40 or stuff like that.
warm it up, let it cool down, warm it up, let it cool down, warm.......
Keep calm, don't destroy it ;)

good luck, Joachim

Heat and differential contraction by rapidly cooling the bearing race with Shock & Unlock" freezing/penetrating spray may help. Plusgas is the best release agent for 'soaking' in my experience.

The heat/chill cycle method and a very well fitting drift (a suitable size socket) have worked for me getting needle roller races out of alloy suspension linkages - but they are probably not as fragile a pump housing.

Hi Mike

You have probably noticed that there are a couple of holes on the side of the housing, which lead into two slots, visible from the seal side of the housing.
I tapped the inner most bearing out using a small drift/piece of 3mm thick bar ground down, carefully tapping each side. Be careful though, the "web" which separates each half of the pump is quite thin.
Going to pursue making a new shaft and costing to make more via cnc

Hello Folks,
Here's the reply to my inquiry from South Coast Seals

I think what you have is a 12mm Burgmann AR seal with a 26 mm stationery 5.5mm thick

Our code will be SBS/012LSS/CAN11 £15.98+vat
Carriage £9.95+vat

Available ex stock

Regards

Ben

Now of course, I have no idea whether or not Ben is correct because I haven't dismantled my pump yet!. Going by the price, it doesn't sound like the correct one?.
Alan.

you can find the measurements of the Burgmann sealing

www.eagleburgmann.de/en/products/mechani...t-ar?set_language=en

On the right side you can download a data sheet in english
I would add mine, but it's in german ;)

My sealing is Type BT-AR 12C
with the small rubber ring PF C (l4=5,5mm)

ciao Joachim

As long as the critical dimensions are the same.....ie 12mm internal for the main seal, and 26mm for the stationary part, I think there is room for a little variation in length, because the spring has quite a lot of travel.
As Joachim has noted, the sealing surface diameter on his new seals is a little thinner than the original, much like the one I bought.
Maybe South Coast Seals have a more friendly pricimg system Alan! I might order a couple through them to compare.
