Hi Bison, my thoughts are that some Japanese owners/riders would have made various changes and I do know of one Rider/racer in Spain that did change the forks. But then he did own a Suspension business, so would have known exactly what he wanted/needed

Forcella forks seems quite common on Japanese IOM bikes. I know of several in Australia and they appear in Japanese Youtube videos a fair bit too.

These two videos from Japan are quite nice. The first shows a restored IOM 500. The second a rider with way more skill than me!

The second video I've watched a few times, the person who posts them, Murks, has a few more videos up on You Tube, worth watching for the beautiful Japanese countryside alone, not just the Saturno's. That road the Saturno is being pelted down?, nowhere to go!, wall on one side road markers on the other, looks like he/she knows what they are doing!

Hi Paul

We have spoken about Jim before, Yeah Jim is sound and is a very useful contact and a Gilestri. I had my Honda MOT'd just before Lockdown :woohoo: :woohoo: and he was fine and dandy then.

Re Saturno Importer, were you thinking of BIKE DIRECT? I thought they imported manly from Japan? But I was so attuned to Gilera's then.

Ciao Pete

Hi Pete, yes I think that could well have been the name I couldn't remember. Bike direct does now ring a bell. Good job one of us still has some working grey cells. Thanks, Paul

Umm... Not sure I was thinking they didn't import from Italy.... Duh!! Saturno's came from.... JAPAN.

I think my fist RC 600 came through them, to AN Other dealer, to me, and then got Stolen.

And has never seen the light of Day...somebody has it somewhere.

Cheers Paul, Take care keep in Touch. :)
