Well, it has workd great for my glasses in the past, buts that was just with water. It is certainly not an expensive one, and a bit tiny. It will fit the small parts like the float bowl and the jets, but the whole body will not fit. So I'll just start with using carb cleaner and the compressor.

That's what I have used with my bikes, after a ride I do shut off the fuel tap and run the carb dry so not to get gum from evaporated petrol.
I would think triclorethylene would be a good solvent in the bath for the jets and emulsion tubes if you can get it.

i usually use warm water with a few drops of a normal dish detergent in my Ultrasonic Cleaner.
If you have no zinc plated parts in the cleaner, you may add a spoonfull of citric acid powder. This gives metal sufaces a shiny touch but eats up zinc.

I use Seaclean 2 in our ultrasonics at work and get really pristine results - carbs, complex castings, dirty jewellery etc, plus it's totally natural and eco friendly. Best thing to clean your carbs and get your bike running sweet after years of gunged up crud in the carbs.

Sorry for the long silence, but I have been busy, mostly scavenging parts for for the water pump.

The engine is now fully build again. New valve seals, lapped the valves and the works.

I did however noticed in the manual that I might have forgotten a rubber O-ring between the engine case and the cylinder, which should seal an oil path? Luckily nothing is torqued down yet...

For the water pump I already bought a new seal and new bearings, but after taking the damned thing apart none of the spacer rings where there. Which might explain the fact that both my bearings where shot, with one of em coming out of the body in pieces. The hard part was finding these spacer rings, but after 2 months I finally found a company near me which sold shims in an infinite amount of sizes and had the correct ones for me to use so that part of the project is now finished.

Well done. You'll be tearing up the tarmac in no time.

Top marks for persevering, it's not like it's a GSXR motor and there are squillions of parts for them everywhere.
