I used a 'Quadrant' rear shock on the 604 Nordwest. It had damping adjustment and a ride height adjustable bottom mounting. I don't know if they are still in business.
It worked pretty well, but there is still little you can do about the Paol forks to further improve things.

Hi Stephen,
I have just bought and fitted a Hagon shock to my RC, not because the std shock was knackered but the powder coated spring had rusted and with no way to re-do the powder coat here I bought new.
The Hagon shock looks to be well made and finished the only minor issue I had was reducing the length of the top mount bush to fit into the frame lugs, it has adjustment for ride height and damper setting.
Sorry I can't tell you what it rides like the RC is still work in progress, and I've never ridden it since purchase, will not be able to give any feed back other than comparison with my Nordie.
Regards
John

Thanks guys, will have a look around and see whats what !
72 degs, i am going to fit a progressive front spring from Wilburs, give the forks a good clean, decent fork oil and new seals, but as you say not much else can be done to the front end.
Perhaps only a complete transplant from A N Other will do the trick ?
Thanks
Stephen

Ron Maxton, when asked, said they were beyond much improvement because of one leg doing compression and the other rebound damping.

I guess you could fit 'better' Paiolis and stand a chance of using the same wheel if the axle brackets could be swapped perhaps. Looks like a blown up Laverda might be the source - no shortage of 750 twins like that allegedly ;-)

Wilb*e*rs is the name ;)

I have a Technoflex in my Gileras.
The 'simple' one in the Nordie, the one with the piggy back at the Saturno.
Both work well... in *my* opinion.

The fork can be replaced by something better. White Power.... KTM?
Another thing is to get it overhauled.
Here around are some professionel workshops which do that for you.
Polishing the inner tubes, rehoning the outer ones. Beside this you can get your personal damping. Maybe in both stanchions. That's all a question of how much you would like to spend :)

ciao Joachim
