I don't know how you lot manage but I always have problems telingl how much oil is in my bike, which plonker decided to have brown tinted plastic , the same colour as the oil for a sight glass,
I grovel on my knees :( not good at my age, trying to see an oil level with a torch, this is a (costly) solution
www.met-rik.de/Shop/enter.html
Unfortunately all in German and mine is not too good but just go down until you see Gilera B)
Regards
John

the problem is, if there is enough oil in the engine, the level is *above* the upper end of the oil level glass.
So of course everything you can see is brown ;)
If you see the level in the glass it's time to fill up oil.
Next oil change you may fill in the right amount, take the Gilera on the left hand grip and somewhere at the frame and lend it over carefully. Do NOT let it fall down ;)
Then remeber the angle when the oil surface appears at the top end of the glass. So you can always estimate the ammout of oil in the engine long before you can see something in the oil level glass.
Hope you understand what im talking about in my funny kind of german school english :)

ciao Joachim
