Bodywork almost fixed (with the help of five boxes of Plastech plastic repair) as it was cracked to hell. The front mudguard was almost beyond repair but I think I have managed to save it.

Rebuild starts this weekend after polishing the swinging arm and forks.

Waiting on a box of stainless button head allen bolts/washers/nuts and a new rear sprocket. The engine will be getting strip/paint/rebuild soon and the bodywork will be off for painting.

Hi Stu,
Look forward to seeing the results, even before you have finished
I can't get Plastech here so all my cracked plastics were roughed up on the inside then bonded with epoxy 'Aradite"
reinforced with cloth, then 'touched up' with colour matched aerosol spray paint brought back from the UK, I only had to get a twin headlight nose cone and the Dakar style brake disc cover painted properly as they were completely different colours to the rest of my RC.

Holts 'Bumper Repair' (available from Halfords) works quite well, particularly if reinforced with a bit of expanding alloy mesh or similar on the inside to bridge the crack.

I've also used it together with plastic or alloy thick tubular 'bushes' to repair seat mounting points on the GFR seats.

Hi all, The plastics on my sp01,kr1,and my sons rgv I welded with a big watt soldering iron and melted plastic into the welds. I found that zip ties are good for the welding sticks. With a bit of practice you can get very strong repairs. I file, sand and fill the weld to shape then prime and paint. A little adivce try out first on the plastic because not all will weld, they just melt to nothing!!.
