Hi Stephan the manual is not telling you how to strip the pump only how to remove and fit a new pump, if you have lost your manual you can download a PDF version by clicking on handbooks and manuals from this site.
The Rapid Mouse French website is the only detailed how to strip and rebuild with good pictures that I have seen.
There is no maintenance to be done on the pump, if it's not broke don't mend it.
At the 1st sign of leaking mend it or buy a new one if you can find B)

Hi John and thanks for the reply. Yes the pump is leaking but only slightly and this came to light when doing the cam belt so thought i would get it repaired. The Rapid Mouse site is indeed good and i have passed this ontothe guy who can hopefully repair the unit. Shame about the manual note explaining how to strip the pump !
Thanks again
Stephen

if there is only a minor leak please try to repair it as soon as possible.
Maybe you are lucky and only need to replace the ball bearings.
In most cases the water finds a way into the rollers and rust did do his ugly work.
The sealing is hard to find and not really cheap.
I can give you the part numbers from Burgmann sealings Germany.
But the sealing is slightly higher than teh original one. The guys at Burgmann have warned me to use it like it is.
There should be taken away some tenths of a mm .
Maybe that is the reason why most of the repaired pumps don't last.
So hurry up ;)
And have a look at Rapidmouses pictures. There is also a video on Youtube from Luca. If you can not find it just drop me a line, i have stored it somehow on my HD.
Don't try to press out the axel by brute force. That will end up in expense spending money for a new one.
Luigi has done a somehow funny construction, at least in my eyes :)

ciao joachim

PS just seen that Lucas video only shows how to mount the parts.
For dismountig refer to Rapidmouses manual. The trick is to grap the roller and press out the rest of the pump.
