Hi all,
Question please on a subject that i am sure has been covered many times. Tyres for a Nordwest !
As i go for short runs and only when the sun is shining ( Max 2k miles a year) should i go the latest super sticky jobbies ? If so what size options as i think i have read that there are some choices for the front ?
Or do i go for the sort of Supermoto style tyre that looks a bit like a wet racing tyre ?
Your unbounded thoughts please
Best Regards
Stephen

Ye old person answering B)
Do you ride like you're a winner on a super motard track?? if so buy the super stickies, if you are not a loony save a few bob and get something that lasts even longer ;)
Don't just take my word for it

Ye Scottish person answering - I'd go for the Maxxis style Supermoto tyre, greater versatility but good grip and more appropriate for our disintegrating roads. If you only do 2k a year the stickies might dry out and go hard requiring replacement sooner than they wear out.

Ye Yorkshire Bloke says

I was recomended Bridgestone BT023's, hey if Ron Haslam uses them on his school bikes they must be pretty good, last a while to by all accounts.

When I first prepared the tuned 604 Nordwest for speed hill climbns and limited road use (the annual IoM trip) I put Pirelli Dragon Corsas on it. Pretty good and inspired confidence through Guthries on a closed road.

When they wore out I replace them with standard Dragon Evos. Still OK.

Based on how well they work on the GFRs (at Cadwell in particular) I would probably just put 'H' rated Diablos on now if available in the right sizes. Who needs a 'Z' rated tyre on a Nordwest?
