Will I need to remove the plastics to get to the temp sender, where is it ?

How free should the water pump be with no belt tension on it, I remember it needed a little pressure to make it turn by hand and didn't spin freely with a "flick" is that normal.

I'm wondering why the temp guage is up high near the red when i'm in traffic, the fans start when the temp guage is nearly in the red, I assume this is normal.

remove seat, left front fairing and lift up the tank a little bit.
The sensor is under the timing belt cover, just between the cam wheels.
14mm spanner. Be quick not to loose to much water ;)
I have just replace my sensor.
Last year it looks that the temperature is to high while driving.
This year the gauge shows 'half' after idling the engine for a few minutes.
Turning on ignition moves the needle up witout starting the (cold) engine.
Looks ok again now.

that's ok.
If it turns freely you will soon get troubble ;)

Cool thanks Joachim.
I'll get a new one and see if it puts it right.

where will you ge ta new one from?
Tell us please ;)

I have just ordered one for a Gilera scooter.
It fits perfect... mechanicaly.
Threat is M10x1mm
Length about 10mm.
I have only measured at 20 deg.
Nordie 840 Ohm
Scoot 750 Ohm.
I will try to measure at more temperatures. If we found about 100 Ohm difference at any temperature, it would be easy to connect a 90 to 100 Ohm resistor to make a perfect Nordie replacement sensor

ciao Joachim
