My RC600 when found due to old age and damp storage had the rubber bonded to the alluminium casting of the inlet manifold cracked, separating from the casting and unusable, fortunately I had a spare.
I stripped the damaged rubber from the scrap casting and inserted 2 steel shouldered sleeves into the casting to extend this was my casting pattern, the finished all alli casting should be a direct replacement, its length is enough to fit 2 short lengths of rubber hose with 4 hose clips to retain everything together and hold the carb in place, anybody want to try one :cheer:

hi my rc 600 needs a manifold yours sound a good solution, the old one had split and been binned by the previous owner I,ve found a different one that sort of fits 2 of the 4 bolts fit,but I don't think its a good solution and I can not get it to start as I think its leaking air,its not helped by the fact it has no starter motor so im having to kick it I think I need a bigger leg thanks kev :S

Hi Kev I tried to attach pictures before but they did not go :( If you give me your email address or mail me on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. I can send pictures to you.
If you want to try one I will not be in the UK until April/May next year :S and looking at the weather you had over Christmas not a bad idea B)
Cheers
John
