So, I have done all of 200 yards on the Nordwest so far, and one thing strikes me very hard.
Similar to the late '80's Kawasaki 250 Ninjette I owned last year, the makers seem to think we want to be tipped forwards on the seat whilst we ride. The Gilera makes you slide down into the dip, which even for a short arse like me, is waaay too far forward. For long journeys, (Dragon in February !), I would like to be on a more horizontal, (and preferably thicker) platform.
Anyone here modified the seat ? I know there wont be anything aftermarket, other than strap on gel pads, but I think I'll have to get creative to even out the sitting area.
Thoughts ?

Bum pads down the trousers B) or try rotating the bars back a little in the clamps to give you a more upright sitting position.

You're supposed to sit in the dip.

It's a sit-up-n-beg sportsbike type posture. If you look at photos of folks riding/racing the Nordie they are in the dip and it's the natural position to control the bike.

Maybe a set of Renthals over the standard bars might sit you up. I like them on mine.

Look at this link. They're in the dip, and some groovy shots of 72degrees on the Island, doing his thing. At the end of the day it's not a trail bike and it's not a sports bike. It's a Nordwest. Ride it how you feel best.

Nice pics ;)
I'll just have to give it a go, off to the MoT in 2 hours, so we'll see how I get on, very alien to me, and the way the bike feels, in just a little ride up my road the combination of small diameter and large width of the front is something I'm not used to.
Yesterday I was riding a bike that was 91 years old with 3 inch wide, 26 inch diameter wheels, so it's a bit of a steep learning curve !
