Something for you all to have a quick check, my Nordie radiator pressure cap corroded around the central brass pin where it’s riveted into the cadmium plated top, can’t really complain as it could be an original 20 year old jobbie?? The spring loaded centre pin pulled through and all the gubbins sat in a heap in the filler neck and allowed water to come out, I had a hasty retreat back to base trailing antifreeze , fortunately only a couple of minutes away, also fortunately I had a spare cap, correction I have a spare radiator which had a cap.
I don’t have any other water cooled bike to compare it with are these caps a standard bike size?
Cheers
John

They are very similar to other liquid cooled bikes I think. I'll have a look at the YZ and KTM when I've got as minute. Just different pressures perhaps.

Hi 72, my Nordie and the spare cap were both 1.2 bar, thanks for having a look see.

Hmm. Both look significantly different to how I remember the Nordwest cap. Bigger I think. Also KTM 1.8 bar and YZ 1.1 bar. Post some dimensions so I can see if they are at least somewhere near. The KTM one looks a greater diameter and has a much longer spring than the YZ one too so certainly not interchangeable even between them.

I'll check the Husky one - the Husky rads have the same mounting and spacing as the Gilera rads as I was gonna use them on the Mk1 Nordvarna when I was planning to use the RC600 frame - maybe the caps are the same as the motors are roughly the same in size and capacity, plus it's probably a Cagiva part.......

I found a s/h cap in the local market, intended for a car but not known what :(
I'll go to a local motor spares place, or call Uncle Bob when I get back next year.
Cheers
