Hi everyone, I have an rcr600 that has been stored for a while, have just started to get it back fully working again but pressing the start button just produces a constant clicking from the starter solenoid, have to say i'm not a mechanic but just apply common sense [mostly!] Question, can it be repaired or just replace? is there any way i can test it or be sure that is the problem? any other help appreciated, and the intention is to sell the bike once its started again [or open to offers as it is! don't really have the time to do it full justice] Thanks in anticipation, martin

Hi, as a norm, if the solenoid is clicking then the low current side is fine. ie: thumb switch and solenoid itself, however this engages two heavier contacts in the solenoid to engage the starter, so, either try a direct feed to the starter heavy cable on the starter side to see if the starter engages or it could be the battery or a poor earth, dropping current when the starter is engaged. Note, try not to short any positive + heavy cables to earth, not a good Idea ;-)
