Never rains but it pours!.
The new fork seals, on newly chromed stansions are leaking?. What's the opinion on quality seals?, these ones are Athena. I think I must have fitted them upside down, it's not obvious which way they go, I found only one site that addressed the subject, it said spring side up, now I wonder. I've never fitted seals spring side up before.

you know about this two versions of fork seals for the Nordie?
One is about 7 or 8mm high and is mounted together with a steel washer.
The other is a 10 or 10,5mm high seal.
Mounting the low version without the washer may end up in troubble.
I did not know if it does, but it could be that the lower seal moves somehow angular and will leak then.
No matter if it's a upside down or a normal fork, the spring of the sealing should always be on the 'oily' side.
Ok if i understand it right, it's now on yours to ;)

ciao Joachim

Hi Joachim,
To confuse matters more, the seal I fitted had a spring on both sides!. But the only explanation is they are in upside down, they will be changed.

Yep ... open or spring side towards oil source always, I have never seen a double sided oil seal, but no doubt one exists... its sometimes good to slide the seal onto the slider first with a little lube to check its a good tight sliding fit and not oversize.
