It appears the bike will run with the fuel tap in the reserve position only.
Before I get into stripping it down I wondered if anyone has experienced a similar problem.

you may have a lokk at the rearside oft he tap. There are two arrows.
One in and one out.
The 'in' one is for the tube from the little left side tap.
The 'out' pipe should be connected to the tube routed to the carb.
Interchanging the two tubes is a common fault ;)

Well I had to push the bike this morning for about a mile, I had it in bits this weekend and I think I did the same trick with the fuel tap connections, filled up at the garage and set off, bike stopped and I flattened the battery trying to get it going, I now think it must not have been getting fuel. What an idiot :-! So because it was dark and I was late for work I jumped in the car, I'll have a look tonight.
