Not on the 57 version or the Giubileos. The official extractor (unobtainium) is like the clutch pressure plate but with a large extractor bolt through the centre. You secure it to the studs with the stud nuts then screw in the bolt. This job was made more tricky because one of the studs was already sheared and one stripped (so I had to drill out the nut). So only 4 intact studs of 6. I wasn't too concerned about using the puller I had as I'd already sourced a good used replacement centre off Ebay.it - and even better a set of NOS friction plates. I'm hoping it won't have to come off again during my ownership. The final drive sprocket is attached to the back of the clutch basket though and is past its best, so it might have to one day. Thanks for the offer though.

No photos of the pump apart I'm afraid, but if you scope out this link you'll see how to press it apart without it shattering the housing and see what the components look like when it's in bits. The Rapidmouse site used to have a good step-by-step guide to doing the pump but it seems to have vanished from the interweb.
Since I've not had any time to even look under the cover at my Nordwest this year up until now I think it's time to give the beast a thorough cosmetic refurbishment.
Keep the progress reports coming.

Thanks very much for this video it explains a lot on how to put one together and is very much straight forward.

The interesting thing will be how one gets the "belt pulley" off the shaft and then the impeller, I can see a couple of holding tools needing to be made - but nothing insurmountable.

I have had a long conversation with ZacPike this lunch time and as Baldrick would say - "we have a cunning plan! Need a few weeks but should have the ability to refurbish water pumps some time next month.

I have pressed my pumps apart and back together in a vice, you do not pull the pulley off, I tried and failed. make/find a steel ring to fit against the mounting flange on the impeller side of the pump and push the shaft out of the pulley and into the pump, the shaft comes out with the rotating part of the seal and the impeller, the bearings are retained in the pump housing with a circlip which can now be removed to press out the bearings, there is a spacer between the bearings try not to lose it, the shaft can be pressed out of the impeller to remove the rotating bit of the seal.

John,

Thanks for that it is now very clear! With a bit of luck ZacPike has or can get his hands on a knackered pump, which I will then make the appropriate supports, drifts, etc to be able to press them apart and back together again. I feel some serious milling time coming on, which will be fun.

The press I have in the garage is more than man enough for this sort of job.

In the long term we need a means of overhauling these units economically to keep the bikes on the road and this isn't much removed from the day job!

Having used a vice to press them they don't take too much pressing,
I did leave a knackered pump in my storage container thinking you may need it, but am now back in kano.
I cast my pump bodies so not too much milling or machining on the outside, the pressing flange I used also doubled up as a drill guide for the 3 fixing bolt holes.
