The HT cable is the one thing that I've not checked so I'll give that a test before I do anything else - the last thing I need is black smoke from anywhere!
I'll borrow a circuit tester from work on Monday and work through the system as it's clearly becoming a common thing with these bikes - age starting to take it's toll?

Well we all have ours heads clear on the ign system now I hope, so keep us in the loop as to how it goes.
