Just discovered the water pump on my 1988 Saturno is leaking yet again. It was only refurbished three years ago,a lengthy process through Bob Wright involving a supposed specialist in Italy. I've seen a post on here about a site in Germany offering new water pumps but wondered if anyone had knowledge or advice about any UK based specialists who might be able to do a good job of refurbishing my current pump. Many thanks, Chris Povah.

I've taken delivery of my new water pump and removed the old one. Before fitting the new one I want to replace the rubber o-ring. Does anyone know the size or reference data for this item. All advice gratefully received, cheers.

Hi Chris,
They are not hard to rebuild once you have sussed out how to get them apart, it will cost about 30quid for bearings and a seal, cant help with the O ring as I've not seen a Saturno pump but understand it is smaller than a Nordie.
Joachim will be along to give you a size any moment from now ;)

the O-ring of the Nordie pump which is just lying on the table here is about 48x2,5mm.
The Nordie pump has a neck diameter of 51mm.
The Saturno pump only has about 49mm.
So i would try to get an 46x2,5 or 47x2,5mm O-ring.

ciao Joachim

Thanks very much for the information. I'll be visiting a local supplier in the morning to try and get a suitable o-ring. Cheers.

Well the water pump saga continues. The new water pump's dimensions do not fit my Saturno 500. Rotor head diameter 47.54mm(old), 49.86mm(new), external rotor diameter (drives cam belt) 45.95mm(old), 44.92mm(new), internal body diameter 49.05mm(old), 50.88mm(new). It seems the new pump has a rotor head diameter is c. 2.5mm too wide, the external rotor diameter is c. 1mm too small the internal body diameter is c. 2mm too wide. I need a stiff drink!
