Folks,
New to the forum but not Italian bikes, so hello all.
There's a very nice looking Saturno Bialbero for sale only a few miles away from me in scotland, and although I'm not ready right now to buy one, I will be in about 6 weeks when my pal pays me for my Jota he's buying from me, unlikely it will still be there though. However, questions, where do I get parts?, is it really going to be that much better than my Morini 3 1/2 sport?, and how much do I pay is the most important question, the prices I see on the web vary hugely, from 10K plus to the 4.5K the dealer is looking for. I know condition has a lot to do with value, it does look very tidy though.
Thanks in advance,
Alan.

Hi Alan,
The only UK spare supplier is Bob Wright, there are suppliers in Germany and Italy, hard to say how much better than a 3-1/2
I have a sportified 500 Morini and Saturno with Nordwest engine, they are very different in character, the Saturno is much more focused and quite a bit lighter than my Morini. It would sit very nicely alongside the 3-1/2 rather than a replacement ;)
Cheers
John

Been away from the Gilera scene for a while now, but when I had my two Saturnos (about 2008) I paid UKL 1200 each for them. I appreciate that prices always rise, but 4.5K seems to be quite excessive for a good one.

I would 'guess' that a really good one should be around UKL 2000-2500.

As John has already said, Bob Wright for spares and this site has the Saturno Workshop Manual (which also gives you a guide on their known problems) available.

Folks,
Thanks very much for the info, especially the regarding the value, although unless anything else comes up I might go along and have a look at the bike if it's still unsold, it isn't very far from where I stay, It's on Flea bay just now, you've probably seen it.
If I can get a Saturno it would be to sit alongside my Morini, I couldn't part with my 3 1/2, it's just a wonderful motorcycle, it wasn't until I rode it I finally understood that less really is more!, and that's one of the reasons I'm parting with my Jota
So, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled, please do tell me if you hear of one coming up for sale, no matter what condition.
Thanks,
Alan.

Hi Alan,
That Saturno looks very tidy, they are rare and don't come onto the market very often, well worth a haggle to try and reduce the dealer price, like the Morini show it a twisty road and it will make you smile and like the Morini there are very few other bikes to compare it with.
There is a comparison write up in a magazine pm me your email address and I will mail it to you

I notice he's just knocked a couple of hundred off but it's still the best part of 4.5k. It's a pretty tidy looking bike so I wonder where it came from to end up in a dealers in Edinburger?
