And you may want to pop the filler cap to make sure it's not vacuum locking?.

Thanks for updates guys.

I've taken the carb to a guy I know locally who has "a few" Saturnos! He's convinced it's carb related and most probably a blocked jet or passage. He's going to clean it up and set it up as his 500. So, I hopefully will have it running (properly) next weekend?

I did think the the tank breather might be a problem ... it was "singing" to me at one point. Didn't drain/bleed the float bowl ... that might have worked? I'll keep that up my sleeve for next weekend!

I'm going to use a K&N air filter (MG0001), if you guys use such, do you keep the metal frame in the airbox for support?

Thanks again,

Tim

if the filter will fit into the frame, keep it.
Those K&Ns tend to twist over the years.
At least mine in the Nordie did this.

BTW the Saturno filter box has a metall frame? If i remeber right mine did not.
I had to make one by myself

Have lokk at the breather. The filler cap often has a problem causing the 'mice singers concert' ;)

ciao Joachim

Looks like the carb was still blocked ... now clean and running lovely!

You might find this interesting .... I hadn’t adjusted the belt tension very well ... from Chris and Gerry at Classic Superbikes ...

Many thanks to them!

Hoping for a dry day on Sunday!

:)

Wow

What a helpful video, obvious really but this is the cause of the kicking of the cam belt which can sometimes be observed at low revs, and the knocking when you crank with a discharged battery.

Please can this Video be saved somewhere on the forum where we can ALL refer to it.

Never to Old to learn..... only to Stupid

Enlightenmnet

Thank You
