shit happens :(

Did the valves break due to a failure of the mechanic?
Or are they just s**t?

ciao Joachim

Valve failure? That sucks. Like John says stick with it and as long as the big parts are ok you can fine tune the new valves and end up with a sweet running bike.

Don't be too pissed off, it'll all fix,

Just thought you might be interested in a couple of photos of the ELECTRIC water pump on my Saturno. It seems to have been put on as a racing mod(!)
on my 350 (ex Japan) It has a an off/on switch on the handle bars.
The engine otherwise seems to circulate water ok, during the 15 minutes I had
it idling.
The pump is a Bosch, but I don't know what it comes from. I'll try to look for a part number.

Another photo. Its quite compact. A 15mm spacer has been added between the frame and the fairing to allow clearance, but I think some judicious fiddling would allow replacement of the fairing without the spacer.

Every part from Bosch should have a complete part number stamped on.
What did you du to the now empty place where the original waterpump is located?

ciao joachim

Hi Joachim

I am the recipient of this bike....it came like this!

The original waterpump I think is still active. I haven't had a chance to test this, having only fired it up and ridden up and down the drive.
But as far as I can tell, the thermostat opens and the temperature is kept constant. I will go for a longer ride soon...but bike is unregistered and I must hide from the local police.
I'm assuming this pump was added to keep the temp down for racing in Japan, but thats a guess only.
I'll have a look for the serial number tomorrow.

I'm planning to put the Nordwest engine I have into this frame, and possibly install some of the better bits from the 350 engine, ie the kickstart and decompressor mechanism.

Neil
