Hi Scott,
After all your attempts tp start it there could be a lot of oil/fuel mix in the crankcase and then the fuel evaporates leaving a lot of oil in the case to nacker your plugs.
Heat both plugs over a gas flame to burn any excess oil of them and try them again.
Bleeding brakes there are vacuum bleeders and a pressure bleeder used to be available from Gunston.
Part of the problem is the master cylinder being a lot higher than the caliper so the air wants to com up not go down.
If I get a stubborn one I remove the calipers and place them on a table or shelf higher than the master cylinder, put a 5 or 6mm thick piece of wood or flat metal plate between the pads to stop the pistons popping out.
We are all going the breath a big sigh of relief when this thing is up an running :cheer:
John

Hi Scott,

Can anything else go wrong for you? I'd give it a week or so before buying your next Lottery ticket.

Can't offer you any advice on either of your problems, but do wish you all the best, as a last resort, I do know a very good (Gilera owning) mechanic and could give his name and number and I'm sure he'd come up with some ideas.

Thanks for the replies guys. To get the oil out should i drain it from the sump? Maybe it could do with an oil change anyway. As for the calipers i shall give that a try. Paul i you have an email address for your friend that would be great o have a few more contacts.

Hi Scott,
I don't think you have a drain plug for the crank case, any other plug will be for the gearbox, don't drain it unless you need new oil in there
