i did have a look at the vacuum pumps and i thought a syringe could do the same sort of thing. I will order a syringe from ebay as i couldn't find one in any shops.

I use a 300mmm long bit of surgical rubber hose into a brake oil can and just hold the brake lever down after 2 or 3 pumps and tighten the nipple, if the lever is still spongy I pump 2 or times again (after topping the master cylinder) it can be more tricky with twin discs and I have then sometimes if it stubborn removed the calipers and raised them above the hieght of the master cylinder to help the removal of air bubles (they rise up and don't like going down.
I have tried a clear 1m long neoprene tube and sucked the brake oil through but keep a good eye on the oil, it's not good to swallow :S

John, "300mm long" using surgical rubber with a tight nipple and drinking brake fluid........got to be a best selling book to be written around that!!!

As for the weather, the British definition of 'tropical' is "it's not actually snowing at the moment."

The registration mark on the oil pump 'lever' should line up with the mark on the pump body when the throttle is completely closed. You set it by adjusting the threaded adjuster on the cable by the pump.

Does it smoke a lot (once warmed up - it usually will when cold)?
