I have already contacted Bob Wright about a new water pump, that way I figure I can rebuild the old one as a spare.

However have been thinking about how I could hook up an electric pump as an alternative as well, haven't quite worked that out yet and still retain the bypass system.

I use a Mikuni made 12volt pump on a 1000cc Kawasaki engine in my race car and still use the thermostat, it is compact, I can look up the ref number if you are interested. I use the mechanical water pump drive for a dry sump pump so had to go electric.

If you have a dig around I posted a link to an article regarding a guy who hooked up a washing machine pump to his BMW Adventure bike to get him on the road in a remote part of the globe - it can be done with a bit of left field thinking.

He had to make up a 12vdc to 220vac power supply to power up the washing machine pump and most probably far more bulky than the little Mikuni pump I'm using, a lot of cars s are converted to Craig Davis water pumps but they are far too big to fit on a bike.
